Recently, the author bought a pair of Tozo T6 earbuds and realized that the sound it played during pairing, unpairing, or connection was too loud for their preference. After contacting the manufacturer, they were informed that there was nothing that could be done to fix the issue. Unsatisfied with this response, the author decided to take matters into their own hands and attempt to modify the firmware of the earbuds to make the audio quieter. They embarked on a process involving reverse engineering and collecting information about the device’s chipset. Ultimately, they were able to find the firmware files and modify them to achieve their desired volume level. The author shares their journey, highlighting their discoveries and challenges along the way.
