We are excited to announce our new partnership with the Flickr Foundation. This partnership will enhance the Flickr2Commons tool, making it easier to upload Creative Commons-licensed images from Flickr to Wikimedia Commons. Flickr has been a popular platform for photographers and amateurs to share their work since 2004, and it is also a significant source of visual content for Wikimedia Commons. With this partnership, we aim to create a bridge between Flickr and Wikimedia Commons, which we affectionately call “Flickypedia.” The project has already begun, and we plan to release Alpha and Version 1.0 in the coming months. We invite everyone to get involved in testing and providing feedback.
