Fluid Simulation Pendant

I have created a handcrafted pendant with a realtime FLIP fluid simulation enclosed in gold plating, watch glass protected. Check out my video to see the design and construction process. Inspired by volumetric display animations, I aimed to create a 3D snowglobe effect. The surprises along the way led to innovations like diagonal charlieplexing, reducing the number of vias needed for LED displays and allowing for unique soldering configurations. The fluid simulation process required intricate particle collision coding and the use of hashgrid algorithms for efficiency. Through trial and error, I experimented with various fluid formations like shockwaves and found unique solutions to design challenges, such as creating a magnetic charging connector and implementing a snap-back feature for watertight sealing.
