FTC sues Adobe for hiding fees and inhibiting cancellations

The FTC is taking action against Adobe and two executives for deceiving consumers through hidden fees and cancellation hurdles regarding the company’s popular subscription plans. Adobe pushes consumers towards an annual paid monthly subscription without adequately disclosing the early termination fee, which could cost hundreds of dollars and has caused confusion among customers. Despite being aware of consumer complaints and confusion, Adobe continues the practice, making cancellations difficult and using fees to deter consumers from cancelling subscriptions. The complaint alleges that Adobe’s practices violate the Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act, and the case is now in the hands of the court.
