Future of Humanity Institute shuts down

Established in 2005, the Future of Humanity Institute was a hub for groundbreaking research at Oxford University. Led by Prof Nick Bostrom, a team of diverse researchers explored philosophical, technological, and ethical questions with long-term implications for humanity. The institute made invaluable contributions to fields such as existential risk, AI safety, and human enhancement ethics, pushing the boundaries and reshaping our understanding of the future. However, after facing administrative challenges, the Institute sadly closed its doors in 2024. Nonetheless, its legacy lives on through its alumni and the widespread interest in exploring humanity’s most pressing questions.
