The release of a report by the National Toxicology Program (NTP) into the potential neurotoxic harm of water fluoridation was delayed last year due to intervention by health and dental organizations with strong support for the policy of adding fluoride to drinking water. Records obtained by law firm food & Water Watch under a Freedom of Information Act request show that the report recommended further studies but also indicated a possible link between cognitive harm and exposure to fluoride levels above the current recommendation. The NTP has now stated that the report will be released later this month.
