The European Space Agency (ESA) has released four groundbreaking images of the sun, captured by the Solar Orbiter spacecraft, showcasing the highest resolution views of its surface to date. These images, constituting a mosaic of 25 high-resolution shots each, were taken less than 46 million miles from the sun. The images reveal intricate details of the sun’s surface and magnetic field, offering a closer look at the star’s dynamic nature. The Solar Orbiter mission, a joint effort between ESA and NASA, has been successful in capturing unprecedented images of the sun since its launch in 2020, advancing our understanding of our home star.
