The MyQ integration will no longer be available in Home Assistant starting from the December 6, 2023 release. Chamberlain Group, the owner of MyQ, has made a public statement confirming that they will continue to block access to third-party apps, including the MyQ integration. This decision has caused much frustration for Home Assistant users, as the integration has been constantly breaking and requiring repairs. Chamberlain Group claims that this action is to provide a better experience for their authorized partners and users. Despite efforts to reach out to Chamberlain Group, no official response has been received, suggesting that they are determined to restrict access to their own app or authorized partners only. As an open-source project, Home Assistant cannot pay a partnership fee to become an authorized partner, as it goes against their principles. In response to the situation, the MyQ integration maintainer, Lash-L, has stated that playing a game of cat and mouse with MyQ is not a viable option and advises against buying products or services from companies that treat their customers poorly. As a result, the MyQ integration will be removed from Home Assistant in the upcoming release.
