Hotline is being brought back for modern Apple systems through a project in Swift and SwiftUI, with the goal of creating a client for connecting to and participating on Hotline servers. Originally released in 1997 for Mac OS, Hotline allowed users to chat, message privately, read news, post to message boards, and share files directly from their Macs without subscriptions or ads. The project aims to keep the Hotline brand alive by creating a modern open source version for macOS, iOS, and iPadOS, with features such as server accounts, file management, and more. Join in, contribute, and run your own server to help Hotline live on for another 25 years. 🙂
