The digital endorsement process for running for President of Iceland has led to 82 people, including a comedian and a model, collecting endorsements, some accidentally. The issue arose from a confusing interface on the website, which led endorsers to accidentally register as candidates. After recognition of the issue, the website was redesigned to create a clearer distinction between endorsing and registering as a candidate. This change has prevented further accidental campaigns, highlighting the importance of clear CTAs, concise information, and visual hierarchy in web design. The page now better serves its primary purpose of endorsing candidates, mitigating confusion and potential misunderstandings.
