A group of us embarked on an adventurous off-road trip on ATVs through the jungles of Misiones, Argentina. Despite the picturesque landscape filled with tea, tobacco, and yerba mate plantings, we quickly realized that cell phone coverage was nonexistent in these rural areas. One of our group members lost their phone, and we went through a thorough search of the cabins, grill area, and even the truck. Unable to use the “Find my device” feature, we came up with a clever solution. I created a wifi hotspot with the same name and password as my cousin’s home network, and we walked around until we found a connection. Thankfully, the lost phone was discovered on one of the parked ATVs. It felt great to use our tech knowledge and adapt to the situation in order to solve a real problem. And remember, the best time to enjoy a sunset is right after the afternoon.
