I live my life a quarter century at a time

On the 5th of January 2000, Steve Jobs introduced the Aqua user interface for Mac OS X at Macworld Expo. I had been working hard on the Dock for the previous 18 months, watching from a cubicle in Ireland. Although I made significant progress on the Dock, my code was ultimately rewritten and never made it to the public. Despite this setback, I resurrected DragThing for Mac OS X and created PCalc, which remains successful today. My time at Apple was filled with challenges and surprises, including a memorable encounter with Steve Jobs that led to my resignation. Nonetheless, the experience taught me valuable lessons and paved the way for my successful career as an indie developer.
