Today marks the announcement of Intel’s next-gen Battlemage graphics cards, succeeding the Alchemist series. Featuring the Arc B-Series graphics card, Battlemage offers improvements over the older model with increased performance per Xe core and per watt. The cards come in models B580 and B570, focusing on mid-range 1440p gaming, with no higher-tier options announced. Interestingly, the Battlemage series boasts fully open-source graphics driver support on Linux, continuing Intel’s commitment to upstream-oriented support. While performance details are pending, Intel claims the B580 will outperform the A750 and even the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060. The B580 will be available next week for $249+, and the B570 on January 16th for $219+.
