Intuitive introverts lead the most successful teams – Spotlight

Some of history’s most successful leaders were introverts, including Abraham Lincoln, Bill Gates, and Oprah Winfrey. New research from the University of Delaware shows that introverted leaders who rely on intuition to handle large amounts of information lead the most successful teams. Co-authored by professor Dustin Sleesman, the study found that introverted leaders excel at intuitively managing information. Surprisingly, intuitive leaders in general lead more successful teams when faced with a lot of information. This pairing of intuition and introversion is highly effective for team performance, as introverted individuals tend to be more reflective and observant. Dustin Sleesman, an associate professor of management, studies team effectiveness and can be contacted for interviews.
