iOS 17 automatically removes tracking parameters from links you click on

Apple is introducing the Link Tracking Protection feature in its iOS 17 and macOS Sonoma operating systems to detect and automatically remove user-identifiable tracking parameters that advertisers and analytics firms use to track user activity on websites. This feature will be activated while browsing in Mail, Messages and Safari in Private Browsing mode. Apple’s privacy-preserving feature will differentiate identifying parts of the URL in links and remove only them, and not the intended URL for users. The company will also enable Private Click Measurement ad attribution in Safari Private Browsing mode, which will track ad campaign success without revealing individual user activity.
