YouTube announced that it won’t build a visionOS app and disabled the option to load the iPad app. This led to the development of “Juno for YouTube,” a YouTube client for visionOS. Juno uses YouTube’s embed API, allowing users to play videos and view ads while providing a native visionOS UI. The browsing experience is achieved by tweaking the theming of the YouTube website through CSS and JavaScript. Juno does not block ads, but YouTube Premium subscribers can enjoy an ad-free experience. The app offers features such as automatic aspect ratio detection, native video controls, and the ability to pin-drag and double-pinch to navigate through videos. It is available on the App Store for $5. Feedback is encouraged to improve the app in the future.
