In 1967, Seymour Papert created Logo, a language known in the eighties for teaching kids programming. Fast forward to 2024, Logo still shines bright for drawing and trigonometry learning. However, due to expense and varying implementations, teaching programming with Logo wasn’t as effective. At age 9, the author created their own Logo language for their father’s computer in Z80 machine code. Almost 36 years later, the handwritten program was found, showcasing simple commands like BORRA for clearing the screen and TORTUGA for centering the turtle. Despite flaws, LOCS was a bold and creative endeavor marking the author’s early steps into programming.
