Making Apple Progressive Blur on the Web

Apple has been at the forefront of great design trends over the years, including the popularization of progressive blur in their designs. This unique effect increases readability by reducing the frequency of background colors, making text easier to read. While blur is not a new concept, implementing progressive blur on the web proved to be a challenge. The author created a solution to generate progressive blur effects using HTML and CSS, allowing for customizable blur levels and gradient masks. Although Chrome struggled with multiple stacked filters, Safari and Firefox provided a working solution. The author’s innovative approach offers a new way to achieve the desired progressive blur effect.
