Making it clear when we’re on a call with you to protect you from fraud

Monzo has introduced a new feature on its app to protect customers from fraudsters pretending to be from the bank. Users can now check the “Monzo call status” on their app to determine if the person on the other end of the call is a genuine Monzo employee. If the call status indicates that a Monzo team member is not talking to them, users are advised to hang up and report the call. The feature has already been used over 100 times a day to report suspected fraud. Monzo plans to make the feature more visible and easily accessible to users in the future.
