WebAssembly (Wasm) is gaining importance in Cloud and Edge computing due to its efficiency, security, compactness, and open standard. However, its full potential remains untapped. Moonbit aims to be the solution to the challenges faced with existing low and high-level Wasm languages. Led by Hongbo Zhang and his experienced team, Moonbit combines the simplicity of Golang and the expressiveness of Rust to create a language that is fast to build and run, generates compact Wasm output, and eliminates dead code. Moonbit also emphasizes user-friendliness and provides an extensive toolset, making it a unique platform. Moonbit is currently in development and is expected to reach beta status by Q2 2024.
