Mothbox 4.0

The Mothbox 4.0 is a low-cost, high-performance insect monitor designed for field biologists in the jungle. It is also accessible for studying biodiversity at home. With open-source designs for physical components, electronics schematics, Pi Scripts, and insect-IDing AI, users can build, share, and enhance the Mothbox. Insects, particularly moths, are hyperdiverse and provide ultra high-resolution data for environmental changes. Monitoring moths can offer localized insights into biodiversity based on their host-specific nature. The Mothbox attracts insects with bright UV light and uses AI to process and identify them. Users can build their own Mothbox or Mothbeam for insect studies.
