Mozilla Standards Positions Opposes Web Integrity API

Mozilla strongly opposes the proposal because it goes against their principles and vision for the Web. They believe that any browser, server, or publisher that follows standard practices should be considered part of the Web. Standards are supposed to be inclusive and accessible, without limitations based on hardware, software, or other factors. Restricting these choices would harm the openness of the Web and hinder user experience. The proposal’s use cases rely on the ability to detect non-human traffic, which could disrupt important functions like assistive technologies, testing, and archiving. The proposed safeguards are unlikely to be effective, and the proposal lacks a practical plan for addressing these concerns.
