MS Teams channels cannot contain MS-DOS device names

Microsoft Teams has certain limits and specifications that users should be aware of. Some noteworthy limits include:

– Users can create up to 250 teams, but the number of teams they can be a member of is limited to 1,000.
– A team can have up to 25,000 members and 100 owners.
– An organization can have up to 500,000 teams, and a global admin can create up to 500,000 teams.
– There can be up to 200 channels per team, including deleted channels, and up to 30 private channels.
– The maximum size for a distribution list, security group, or Microsoft 365 group imported into a team is 3,500.
– Channel conversation posts have a maximum size of approximately 28 KB.
– In shared channels, there can be up to 5,000 direct members, including up to 50 teams.

One controversial limitation is that teams/channels with more than 10,000 members cannot use team/channel mentions.

In terms of messaging, private chats can have up to 250 people, and video or audio calls from chat can include up to 20 people.
