The sample capsule from the Osiris-Rex mission has arrived at the clean room facility following a helicopter ride. Team members wearing gas masks are preparing to remove the capsule and ensure there is no potential outgassing from the battery. A C17 cargo plane will transport the sample to the Johnson Space Center in Houston tomorrow. The helicopter transporting the capsule has taken off and is carefully transporting the sample to the clean room. Queen member and astrophysicist Brian May, who helped identify the sample location, expressed his pride in being part of the mission. Nasa administrator Bill Nelson praised the mission’s success and its potential for scientific discoveries. Professor Neil Bowles of the University of Oxford is looking forward to studying the samples and discovering new science.
