New BeagleV Single Board Computer Adopts Microchip’s PolarFire SoC with FPGA

BeagleBoard.org has announced the release of BeagleV-Fire, a single-board computer that integrates Microchip’s PolarFire MPFS025T FCVG484E, a 5x core RISC-V System on Chip (SoC) with FPGA fabric. It is designed for a wide range of applications including robotics, IoT, and artificial intelligence. The BeagleV-Fire comes with a RISC-V CPU with four 64-bit application cores, an FPGA with 23K logic elements, and various communication interfaces. It also features open-source hardware principles, allowing for customization of design and firmware. The board comes pre-installed with Ubuntu and is priced at approximately $150.00. It can be purchased from several retailers including Farnell, Mouser, and Digi-Key.
