Apple has unveiled its visionOS, which includes a headset displaying virtual spaces to control a user’s computer and perform tasks such as sending email and browsing the internet. VisionOS uses a handheld sensor to pick up signals from the user’s hands, which can be used to activate and control the device. Despite claiming it will not initially support gaming, the headset will include advanced sensors combined with a mobile phone-size design, high-resolution displays, and optimised optics. Apple aims to focus on relocating traditional 2D computing into these spaces, rather than building 3D user interfaces.
