On Kinopio’s 5th anniversary, the code for the kinopio-client app has been opened sourced, allowing users to run it on their own computer, make changes, and share improvements. The app is lightweight (~220kb) and can save data locally or to the kinopio-server. By open sourcing the app, the creator aims to share the amount of work that goes into Kinopio, while acknowledging the challenges and risks involved.
