OpenIPC is an alternative open firmware designed for IP cameras with ARM and MIPS processors. Its purpose is to replace the closed, insecure, and often abandoned firmware that comes pre-installed by manufacturers. OpenIPC offers binary pre-compiled files for easy installation by end-users, as well as access to the source code for further development and improvement. The firmware is released under the MIT License, allowing users to reuse code for any purpose. OpenIPC initially supported SoC manufactured by HiSilicon but has expanded to include chips from various other manufacturers. The project welcomes feedback, suggestions, and contributions.
