Reddit is Fun will shut down on June 30th in response to Reddit API changes

The popular Reddit Is Fun (RIF) app will be shutting down in 2023 due to changes in Reddit Inc’s API and their disregard for developer concerns. Reddit is implementing costs for their API, which would cost RIF and similar apps $20 million annually. Additionally, Reddit’s decision to block ads in third-party apps, which make up the majority of RIF’s revenue, along with the removal of sexually explicit content from such apps, is pushing them towards a paid subscription model. However, Reddit’s official app still heavily relies on ad revenue. The situation is described as sad and informative by the creator of RIF.
