The Retro-Computing Society of Rhode Island is dedicated to preserving historic computers and promoting the history of computer development. Their main focus is restoring old computer systems to working condition. They serve as a users’ group for vintage computer enthusiasts, providing a platform for discussing and exchanging information about computer systems and software of historical interest. Founded in 1994, they are a non-profit corporation governed by a board of directors. They lease a space in an old mill complex in Providence, RI, which houses their office, library, repair workspace, and collection of historic computers. While based in Providence, all are welcome to join and participate. No membership fees or admission charges apply.
