Sega AI

Sega released a little-known and rare system called the Sega AI Computer in late 1986. Not much information is available about this system, but a recent release includes system roms, data dumps, scans, and photographs, as well as an early working MAME driver for emulation. Most software titles for this system had no information available online prior to this release. The system featured a touch surface, various inputs and outputs, and the ability to mix multiple types of audio. The hardware and software were mostly educational and aimed at children. The release of this information is exciting for game and computer historians. However, the reasons behind the system’s release and its updates remain a mystery. The system also boasts the use of Prolog AI language and promises of artificial intelligence. Emulation for the Sega AI Computer is now available in MAME, allowing users to experience this rare system.
