Smartphone buyers meh on AI, care much more about battery life

About one quarter of smartphone owners do not find AI features useful, with privacy concerns being a top reason. Only a small percentage, 18%, find AI integrations as a main motivator for upgrading their phone. Upgrades are mainly driven by desires for longer battery life, more storage, and better camera features. Despite major tech companies emphasizing AI capabilities, many users are reluctant to pay extra fees for such features. Gen Zers and Millennials are more enthusiastic about AI on their phones, with 20% excited about the capabilities. Privacy remains a significant concern, with 34% of smartphone owners feeling uneasy about AI. Foldable phones have yet to gain significant interest among consumers, as over half express no desire to purchase one. Apple may have an opportunity to tap into this market.
