In the wintertime, we love to embrace the playful side of the season by bringing a bit of the digital world of Minecraft into our own backyard. Using giant LEGO-shaped storage bin lids, we press them into the snow to create perfect 2×2 LEGO bricks made entirely of snow. The key is to press consistently and at the right angle. Once we have a pile of snowy bricks, we let the kids take over and watch as their imaginations run wild. They build their own Minecraft realm, complete with a glowing snowlamp or a sturdy igloo fortress. As night falls, we place a lamp inside the igloo, creating a warm glow that serves as a visual lullaby for the kids before they drift off to sleep.
