Sweden’s 250-year-old Freedom of the Press Act has been recognized by UNESCO as part of the country’s national identity and awarded Memory of the World status. Despite this achievement, Sweden’s press freedom ranking has dropped this year according to Reporters Without Borders. The president of the organization’s Sweden branch, Erik Larsson, says that journalists in Sweden are dealing with a host of challenges.
