System76 has introduced new features to its 13th Gen Intel laptops with System76 Open Firmware, including re-disabled Intel Management Engine, Secure Boot support for Windows 11, and increased battery power limits and CPU performance. The ME has been disabled wherever possible to reduce the amount of closed firmware running on System76 hardware, while the standard battery power limit for the CPU has been increased from 28W to 45W. Windows 11 requires Secure Boot to install without tweaks, which is now supported by System76 Open Firmware. Nvidia Dynamic Boost enables power to be shared between the CPU and GPU, improving throughput and framerates.
