TeamTopologies

Team Topologies is a model developed by Matthew Skelton and Manuel Pais that aims to help organize software development teams. It defines four types of teams and three modes of team interactions. The primary type of team is the stream-aligned team, which is responsible for software for a single business capability. These teams are full-stack and full-lifecycle, focusing on business outcomes. The model also introduces the concept of a platform team, which builds an internal platform for the organization to integrate third-party and internal services. There are also enabling teams that specialize in certain areas and complicated-subsystem teams to handle complex aspects. The focus of Team Topologies is on reducing the cognitive load of teams and improving their efficiency.
