Google offshoot Waymo and Cruise, backed by General Motors, are testing autonomous vehicles in Phoenix and San Francisco, with both expecting to expand service in the coming months. Cruise also plans to launch in Dallas and Houston. Last year alone, various self-driving test fleets clocked up millions of miles on public roads, with Cruise completing its second million miles of driverless travel in March.
