The first open source 3D atlas of human anatomy

In less than two years, the team behind ‘Z-Anatomy’ has created an impressive collection of over 5,000 three-dimensional anatomical structures and labels. With more than 3,500 definitions and available in five languages, this open-source project is quickly gaining popularity among students, health professionals, and researchers. What sets ‘Z-Anatomy’ apart is its commitment to collaboration and open access, with a CC-BY-SA license allowing for easy sharing and modification. The use of Blender as both a workshop and an anatomy viewer adds another innovative element to this project. This Belgian, Polish, and Spanish collaboration has resulted in the creation of the first organized 3D atlas of anatomy, providing a valuable resource for the medical field.
