The Last Egg

The unique circumstances of South Pole Winter mean that fresh food supplies dwindle, with the most recent tragedy being the end of fresh milk. Fresh ingredients, like lettuce or fruit, are limited, but the South Pole Greenhouse provides a volunteer-run source of herbs and occasional salads. Food is important for morale, and the delicious meals created by expert chefs is a consistent highlight of South Pole life. While the lack of fresh ingredients clearly shows in mid-winter meals, great food continues to be served throughout the winter. The next fresh egg won’t be seen for five months, adding to the strange adventure at the bottom of the world.
