The World’s First Known Deep-Sea Octopus Nursery

Approximately 150 miles off the shore of Costa Rica, an octopus hatched just in time to witness an alien invasion. As the baby octopus emerged from its egg, a remotely operated submersible was exploring the same area, capturing the moment on camera. This discovery excited the scientists and crew members on board, as it was the first time they had witnessed a gathering of brooding female octopuses in this area. The presence of these baby octopuses raises questions about what makes this site hospitable for them and opens up possibilities for further research. The expedition also provided valuable data on the deep-sea biodiversity in Costa Rica.
