Tolstoy: How much Land does a man need

Pahom, a peasant, becomes dissatisfied with his life and decides to buy land in a new settlement. He sells his current land and belongings and moves with his family to the new settlement. Pahom initially prospers and saves money, but becomes frustrated with having to rent land from others. He decides to buy his own land and discovers a deal in which he can get a large amount of land for a low price from the Bashkirs. Pahom embarks on a journey to meet with the Bashkirs and acquire the land.
