The MUREX Ethernet Switch, or mrxSwitch, is the world’s smallest and cheapest networking switch, fully open-source, with a focus on simplicity and cost. It utilizes external magnetics and a high performance unmanaged switch IC, with 1.25mm pitch Fast Ethernet connectors. The switch is designed with minimal noise and full Bob-Smith style termination for all center taps. Measuring 44.9mm by 42.2mm, mrxSwitch V2 outperforms all commercially available options in size and cost. It is suitable for embedded systems, ROVs, AUVs, consumer electronics, DIY projects, and other space-constrained networking applications. The latest version, V2.0, offers a 30% size reduction and a 15% BOM cost reduction.
