Big Tech has been running rampant with little oversight, causing social media harms and anti-competitive practices. This has Washington at risk of repeating past mistakes when it comes to artificial intelligence. We need to prioritize open source AI models to allow for transparency and innovation, instead of closed source models that limit competition. Additionally, we need to promote fair, open, and competitive markets to allow startups to thrive. By prioritizing forceful remedies to foster competition and banning employee noncompetes, we can ensure that little tech has a chance to succeed and benefit us all in the long run.
