WordPress is celebrating its 20th anniversary today. The community has been committed to democratizing publishing and spreading the four freedoms of the GPL for two decades. To celebrate the milestone, the Audrey Scholars program has been launched to experiment and see how it unfolds. It’s possible that one day an Audrey Scholar could even lead WordPress when the current leadership, such as its founder Matt Mullenweg, has passed on the responsibility.
