In 2005, Fog Creek, the software company founded by Joel Spolsky, documented their summer internship program in a film called Aardvark’d: 12 Weeks with Geeks. The film features interviews with individuals who would later achieve fame and success in the tech industry, such as Paul Graham, Jessica Livingston, Aaron Swartz, Steve Huffman, and Alexis Ohanian. Despite the notable interviews, the film did not gain much popularity and sold only 5,000 copies. Aardvark’d has recently been made available for free on YouTube, but it has surprisingly low viewership. Overall, the film captures the vulnerability and uncertainty experienced by tech founders in their early days.
