El Paquete Semanal or “The Weekly Package” is a one terabyte collection of digital content including TV shows, music, movies, and classifieds. It is the primary source of entertainment for millions of Cubans, acting as a substitute for broadband in a country where only about 38.8% have access to the internet. Although it is unclear who compiles the package or where the content is obtained, some have theorized that the Cuban government is involved in its production due to the lack of anti-government views and pornography. The government has attempted to counter it with their own version called Mochila but it was unpopular.
