I’m Not Invidious

Invidious, a project that provides an alternative to YouTube through open-source software, received an email from Google/YouTube requesting it be stopped. The email, however, is invalid as Invidious doesn’t use any part of the YouTube API and doesn’t do anything illegal. The author explains that Invidious isn’t their project, they don’t own the “Invidious” trademark, and they don’t represent Invidious. Rather, the author is just one contributor to the project, so they weren’t asked to stop. The author concludes that if Google/YouTube wants them to stop, they just need to ask, but they never did anything illegal and don’t agree with YouTube’s terms of service anyway.
