PDF Subpage Navigation

The PDF specification has a subpage navigation feature that allows you to have bullet points appear one by one as you click forward in a PDF presentation. However, this feature is rarely used because it is confusing and self-contradictory, and none of the presentation software exports subpage navigation tags. The only PDF viewer that uses this feature is Acrobat Reader. Trying to figure out how it works entails feeding Acrobat Reader sample documents, studying what it does, and creating a hypothesis. The basic operations used are optional content groups and navigation nodes. A reasonable assumption for getting this working would be to set the default visibility of all optional content groups to hidden and then have transitions that enable the bullet points one by one.
